well, hello 3rd tri!
80 days left til babesween is here!! It has been an eventful week. Dexter has been so sick, but he is finally on the road to recovery. I got hit by an idiot drunk driver on Monday night, but all is fine with me and the Peanut. I ended up going into the hospital the next day because I was having contractions, but they were not bothering the Peanut and after a couple hours of monitoring I was sent home :)
I'm taking a bunch of classes this month and time is just flying. There are just not enough hours in the day to complete all my work! Soon it will all be over with and it will be time for my shower aaaand time to finish setting up the nursery.
Come on August!

such a slacker
I have really been slacking on updating my blog. I think part of the reason is because I want to start a new one that will focus on our growing family...so once I think of a name and get my act together I will create a new one! Since I'm 24w1d I finally decided to do one of these updates...
How far along? 24w1d (so happy to be passed the viability mark...if Peanut was born today he/she would have a 50/50 chance of survival)
Total weight gain/loss: 17lbs (pre-preg I was 117 and now I'm 134)
Maternity clothes? half of the time
Stretch marks? none
Sleep: not much recently because I have been sick with a sinus infection
Best moment this week: going to my 3D study appt tomorrow!!! aaaand we just started reading to the baby. i love it.
Movement: everyday :)
Food cravings: balsamic!!! and other strong flavored foods (spicy mexican, indian)
Gender: waiting for the surprise!
Labor Signs: nooo and i don't want any right now
Belly Button in or out? way in
Wedding rings on or off? on and I'm not sure my long skinny fingers will fail me
What I miss: a medium cooked steak, cold cuts, red wine, an ice cold beer on hot days, seafood
What I am looking forward to: regular movement
Weekly Wisdom: I feel more educated about post-partum after our labor/delivery class. One thing I want to try to do before baby comes is stock up on meals that I can freeze and paper products. oh, and the nurse said we shouldn't be cleaning for a long time after birth, so if I could just be superwoman a week before labor I will be happy :)
Milestones: viability day at 24w

happy changes
Since I have wrapped up my Spring classes I have been doing a lot of nesting. So far Eric and I have painted the guest/baby bathroom gray (for a whale theme), painted a bookshelf my Poppy made for peanut's room, cleaned out the office, and registered! I am currently in the process of re-organizing our office in the finished basement. Did I mention I love nesting?
I have to admit that seeing the transformation of the office into the baby room is so exciting. Right now it is bare; awaiting a fresh coat of light green paint, furniture, decor, and a little babe of course.
This weekend kicks off our marathon summer where we have plans from this upcoming weekend through the last weekend in July. The weekends will be filled with so much fun and now time is going to start flyyyying (or at least I hope so). I know once August hits I will be wondering where the time went, have a huge belly, and it will be closer to peanut's arrival. I cannot wait to meet the newest member of our family...19 weeks and 4 days left!
Oh, and I'm officially half baked :) Here are some things I want to note:
I love feeling peanut's little movements. Every morning and every night he/she is constantly squirming around.
The second trimester is great! I feel awesome and can still move around easily.
I'm enjoying long walks in the morning with Dexter. We usually walk 3 miles up to Kennett and around he neighborhood.
My allergies are horrible and I am not looking forward to the summer heat, but I am looking forward to taking advantage of all the people I know who have pools.

weekend, anatomy scan, & babymoon
This Sunday I started my 18th week! SO exciting.

I also got my new camera that I have been patiently waiting for! The Nikon D3100 :) We practiced using it all weekend!

Lots of Dexter practice shots...

...and I practiced on E who had an awesome run at the Broad Street 10 miler

Today I had my anatomy scan and was told that everything looks great. The tech checked for the gender as my mom and I turned our heads. She said she is pretty sure she knows the gender! Wow. I can't believe someone knows! Here is one pic from today. I have my 3D u/s this Friday for the study I am participating in and cannot wait! Other than that, I will go in every month for these level 2 ultrasounds that I did today. My practice likes to do them for all women who went through IVF.

Oh, aaaaaand we also booked a babymoon for Memorial weekend to Miami. This will not take place in the club scene of Miami, but rather a relaxing hotel next to the pool. I plan to get a massage, lay out all day, and eat delicious food.
We have a lot of exciting things planned for the next couple of months and I'm starting to get really excited!!!

14w3d

I am lovin' the second tri! Here are some reasons why:
I have my energy back.
I feel great taking long walks with Dex.
It has chipped away a tiny bit of my worry.
I'm starting to get a bump, not just bloat.
I love starting to plan our registry and how we are decorating the baby room.
I like wondering if we are having a boy or girl.

13 weeks :)
I'm officially in the last week of my first trimester! I'm also at the stage where I look like I either ate a large meal or am starting to put to on a couple pounds.

E and I have been doing a lot of baby room planning lately. We have also decided to definitely not find out the sex - team green! So, this is the bedding we got:

We plan to paint the room green and have touches of lavander around. We also have been picking up cute little elephant accents whenever we find something.
We just found this adorable lamp today while shopping in our little town:

Oh! And I bought a diaper bag, which I am so happy about. I wanted a bag that would act as a purse and diaper bag. And by purse, I mean just being able to throw my wallet and lip gloss in as I really never carry much around with me.

Needless to say, we have been getting very excited lately! The last couple of weeks have been big weeks for us as we were released from our RE, announced our pregnancy, and had my first OB appointment. Everything went great at my first appointment and I don't go back until April 18th. I have never gone 4 weeks without an u/s, but I am going to try my hardest to be patient. Right now we are just enjoying planning for our little peanut :)
